Coldenhove Papier fights Korean patent infringement (Press Release 19 July 2010)
Recently Coldenhove Papier has taken legal action against several Korean producers of dye sublimation transfer paper and their European and American distributors. Ongoing infringement of Coldenhove Papier's global patents on these papers forced the Dutch based paper mill to take this step.
'It is not our intention to exclude anyone from the market', claims Kees Herder, CEO of Coldenhove Papier. 'But we do have the right and obligation to defend our patent; we have a firm believe in fair play and tried to settle matters in a more friendly manner, but failed. We had no choice but to go to court.' A verdict in a Korean case is expected in August. Herder still hopes the case can be settled out of court: 'we feel that some of the Korean producers are willing to work towards an alternative solution, like joining our other licensees, and of course we'd prefer that.'

Europe's widest wide format slitter/ rewinder in Eerbeek
Coldenhove Papier has invested heavily in it's converting operation, which resulted in the construction of the widest winder in Europe. The machine - manufactured by the American company Jennerjahn - can handle reels up to 3.40 meter. Coldenhove Papier not only uses the winder for their products, it also winds non- paper related products for third parties.
